FPSLC Facts: FACT:
FPSLC provides their "services" to minor children without their
parents’ knowledge or consent. Both FPSLC’s
literature and web pages state clearly that minor children can come to
them without their parents knowing.
EVIDENCE: From an FPSLC brochure: "At Family Planning Services we believe that people under 18 have a right to confidential reproductive health care services." (emphasis added). And from FPSLC's website: "All your visits to Family Planning Services are strictly confidential. No one need ever know that you have visited us." They further state on their web site that FPSLC provides their services to “all women of reproductive age.” This obviously includes minor children. FACT: FPSLC encourages children to engage in pre-marital sex. FPSLC considers sex and marriage to be unrelated to each other. Their criteria for when sex is acceptable is if you're "ready", and "protected." Sadly, they seem to have no concept of sex as designed by God to be a wonderful, love-enhancing and life-bringing activity between a husband and wife. EVIDENCE: The words “marriage”, “married”, “husband”, and “wife” don’t appear anywhere in the FPSLC web pages or literature. Whenever sexual activity is discussed, the generic term “partner” is used. In a discussion with an FPSLC staff person, she admitted, “We don’t tell kids not to have sex, just if they do to use protection.” In fact, FPSLC blatantly encourages kids to become sexually active. One of the links from FPSLC’s teen web pages is to a site called “Sex Etc.” On this site, teens are encouraged to wait “long enough” to have sex. On one page “long enough” is defined as “five months” or “until both people are comfortable with each other.” On another page, a 15 year old is advised that readiness to have sex has more to do with maturity than with age. Additional advice suggests that this 15 year old may be ready to have sex if they are talking with their “partner” about sex and contraception and if they obtain “protection” from a family planning clinic. Another group of web pages linked from FPSLC's teen pages is Planned Parenthood's “Teenwire” which includes interactive diagrams of male and female private parts, a several minute long web-movie showing how to put a condom onto a very realistic looking model of a male private part, games -- including one about the size of people's private parts, etc. Most of these seem to be designed to normalize teen sexual activity. Another linked page summarizes well FPSLC's advice to teens: "So to sum up, before you're ready to have sex, you need to be aware of the possible consequences and risks, know how to get and use birth control and condoms, talk to your partner about your feelings and concerns and then be able to cope with any negative consequences." FACT: FPSLC promotes homosexuality and encourages children to accept homosexuality as normal. In this area, FPSLC again shows that they seem to have no concept of sex as designed by God to be a wonderful, love-enhancing and life-bringing activity between a husband and wife. EVIDENCE: On one of the "Youth Resource" web pages linked from the FPSLC teen page, kids are presented with stories, articles, and "community" resources for gay young men, lesbian young women, bisexual youth, and "transgendered" and "questioning" young people. Kids are encouraged to look for groups in their area where they can explore homosexuality. Among the kids games on the Planned Parenthood "Teenwire" web pages linked from the FPSLC teen page, there is one called "Jim Dandy and His Very Gay Day." The description of the game says "Jim Dandy and his alien friend have cooked up a little game about what it means to be "questioning." They want you to know that being gay is a-okay..." Keep in mind that the evidence presented has not been singled out. There are dozens of web pages to be found through links on FPSLC’s teen web page which all give the “how to” of having pre-marital sex and exploring homosexuality. FACT: FPSLC is a chemical abortion clinic, and provides abortion causing chemicals even to minor children. FPSLC says on their web site and in their literature that they provide the Plan B so-called "emergency contraceptive.“ However, this is not just a "contra-ceptive" (it does not just prevent conception). It is also an abortifacient (a chemical that causes abortion). EVIDENCE: FPSLC makes no distinction on any of their web pages or in their literature: they make all of their services, including birth control medications and devices, and “emergency contraception” available to minor children. In fact, FPSLC has prominent on their teen web page a discussion of the use of “emergency contraception.” And FPSLC admits in their own literature that the Plan B "emergency contraceptive" causes abortions. FPSLC states in their literature that emergency “contraception” has as one of its effect to make the uterus inhospitable to a newly developing human life (“preventing the fertilized egg from attaching to the lining of the uterus if conception occurs”). In other words, if a new human life arrives in his/her mother's womb, Plan B will have made the womb inhospitable and the newly conceived baby will literally starve to death. Scientific evidence substantiating the claim that "emergency contraception" causes early chemical abortions is available, (for instance see “Postfertilization Effect of Hormonal Emergency Contraception”, Chris Kahlenborn MD et al, The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, 2002 March, Volume 36, available at: http://polycarp.org. Further, from the “emergency contraception” web page link on FPSLC’s web site, the manufacturer lists some of the health risks from using their product. The manufacturer also states that it is “not recommended for routine use as a contraceptive.” Despite this warning, FPSLC told a local pastor that of ~5000 client visits in the prior year, 500 of them (1 in 10!) were there for “emergency contraception.” FACT: FPSLC refers minor children to surgical abortion clinics. EVIDENCE: FPSLC admits on their web pages that while "Pregnancy terminations are not available in Lorain County", (not true, since FPSLC provides chemical abortions!) "we are able to provide education and a resource list on this topic on request." FPSLC's resource sheet includes prenatal care and adoption agencies, and surgical abortion clinics. So, while encouraging pre-marital sex and birth control use, FPSLC provides no direct services to teenagers who become pregnant beyond the provision of “emergency contraception” (which as discussed previously does cause abortions). However, instead of caring for the expectant mom and her baby, FPSLC instead refers teens to other agencies, which include the Preterm surgical abortion clinic in Cleveland and the Planned Parenthood surgical abortion clinic in Bedford.
